Constructions of the Out Patients’ Department and clinical building of the Kalawana Base Hospital due to be constructed with an expenditure of Rs.45 million on World Bank provision under the Primary Health Care System Strengthening Project implemented by the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government, were commenced on 19.01.2024 under the leadership of Hon. Janaka Wakkumbura, the State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government.

This occasion was graced by a group of Government officials including former Hon.Ministers of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council, former Hon.Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Kalawana Pradeshiya Sabha, Chief Secretaries and Additional Secretaries of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.
