The Godakawela Crematorium Complex which was constructed incurring an expenditure over Rs.40 million under provision of the State Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government, was handed over to the public on 26.07.2024 under the patronage of Hon. Janaka Wakkumbura, State Minister for Provincial Councils and Local Government.

A group of public officers including Mrs.Muditha de Soysa, Ratnapura District Member of Parliament, the former Members and Chairman of Godakawela Pradeshiya Sabha, Commissioner of Local Government Sabaragamuwa Province and the Godakawela Divisional Secretary participated in this event.
