Hon. Wajira Abeywardhana appointed as a Minister of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government by His Excellency the President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka under New Government on December 20th, 2018.

He assumed his duty at the Ministry with the warm welcome of the Ministry Staff and with the presence of the Hon. Parliament Member J. C. Alawathuwala & Hon. H. M. M. Harees ( State Ministers of the Ministry), Additional Secretaries and all other staff of the Ministry.
