Constructions of a double lane bridge connecting Galathura and Dimiyawa villages in the Divisional Secretariat Division of Ayagama in the Ratnapura District implemented under the Rural Bridges Project of the State Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government, were commenced on 17.01.2024 headed by the Hon. Janaka Wakkumbura, the State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government.

This bridge due to be constructed with an expenditure of Rs.200 million under financial assistance of Netherland is a double lane bridge of 30 metres in length. Over 2000 families will benefit with the construction of this bridge..

Members including the former Hon. Member of the Ayagama Pradeshiya Sabha and a group of Government officials including the provincial Engineer of the Rural Bridges Project participated at this occasion.
