A progress review meeting of the projects implemented by the State Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government in the Polonnaruwa District was held on 8th January 2022 at the Governor's Office, Polonnaruwa.

A large number of projects including the construction of schools, roads, hospitals and bridges are being implemented in the Polonnaruwa District at present under the guidance of the Hon. Minister Roshan Ranasinghe. Mr. W.M.M.B. Weerasekara Secretary of the State Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government, Mr. W.M. Dharmasiri District Secretary of Polonnaruwa, Mr. J.K.N. Wickramasinghe, Secretary to the Chief Ministry of North Central Province was accompanied by a large number of people including the Heads of Local Government Institutions in the Polonnaruwa District.
